Indigo dye and other natural dye practices
Have fun in our natural dye session.
Indigo dye comes from a plant, and is one of the oldest dyes used for coloring fabrics. This natural dye process has long been used in many cultures worldwide. The unique characteristics of natural dyeing make it easy to create wonderful resist patterns on fabric.
The process of tie-dye typically consists of folding, twisting, pleating, or crumpling fabric, before binding it with string or rubber bands, followed by the application of dye or dyes
