Victoria is a Cornish artist based in Breage,

 My paintings are a search for a balance; a stability of space and form fabricated by a process of layering and generating illusionary depth. Vertical and horizontal divisions are a common occurrence in my work. Relationships between interlocking forms, colours and lines inspired by my surrounding landscape are a strong influence. These connections often appear jumbled, lost or unclear as a result of working from memory.

 Although restructuring these memories to re-establish parity is my aim, allowing the viewer to enjoy my work and create their own interpretation is equally rewarding and exciting.

 I am absorbed by specific techniques and the progression of discovering new marks. My most recent focus involves playing with fresh, more decorative marks giving a subtle lightness and sense of calm. The making of my work is a visual satisfaction and, for me, a therapeutic process.
